Visiting Scholar Cabin

As part of a school project, we were tasked with designing a space to accommodate a visiting professor for an extended stay. The site, located directly behind the College of Design on the Iowa State University campus, gave us the freedom to be creative with both the cabin’s exterior aesthetic and its interior layout.

This project was designed to accommodate guest speakers visiting the College of Design. I wanted the space to feel open, welcoming, and equipped with all the amenities a visiting speaker might need. Beyond functionality, my goal was to create an environment that felt like a true home away from home.
